For our project of shooting a portrait photo, this one is
my favorite of them all. I like this picture because the lighting perfectly
gives his face a light tone, where there is no shadow showing anywhere. He also
squints his eyes lightly while his eyebrows are up, giving him the look of
common models of today’s time. Also the face is focused very precisely while
the background is visible but also very plain. Which is good, so the viewer can
become attracted to the person focused in, instead of the background. Trying to
capture a photo like this was somewhat difficult because you’re dealing with a
person, who is not going to wait for you to get ready, and also moves a lot.
In comparison, when shooting a still life object, you can wait as long as you
want because the object is not going anywhere.
